Around 1994 or so. FIGR (Federation of International Gravity Racing) had races at Bonelli Park in SoCal. We used to race side by side slalom around tires. Real safe. This was a "parade run".

This is a group of friends on a 2 mile hill in southern LA County.

I wasn't kidding about that riding in New Jersey stuff.  Notice the lack of foliage.  It was January and yes, I was cold.

 
We may not have been luging but man did we see some cool roads along the way!  This is Murphys CA (Gold Country).
